In my family, holiday's are always filled with love and tradition. One of those traditions is our Easter Bunny Cake. I have made this cake every year for as long as I can remember. So, I wanted to share it with you all. The great thing about this cake is that it's simple and fun! Also, who doesn't love a cute cake?!
Here is what you will need to make it:
- 2 "9" inch cake pans
-Oil (I use coconut oil)
- 1 box of Pillsbury yellow cake mix
-2 cans of Pillsbury white icing
- 1 bag of jelly beans
- 6 toothpicks
Once you've baked your two cakes it's time to have a little fun!
The first thing you will want to do is place both cakes vertically on a large baking sheet or surface you prefer.
Next, you will cut the top cake in half vertically. This will create your bunny ears.
Now, it's time to add the frosting. We like to use a spatula to get the icing on the cake and use a knife to smooth it out. There isn't a right a wrong way to do it. It's really just about having fun.
Now that your cake is iced. It's time to bring the bunny to life.Two dark jelly beans for the eyes.
A pink jelly bean for his nose and about 12 jelly beans for his mouth.
Last but not least add his toothpick whiskers.
All done! Now, you have a yummy cake and a new Easter tradition.
